Nor'Town Council Fun Tomorrow

Here's what you'll probably be missin' if you decide to go the the meeting of the North Las Vegas HOAs and concerned folk  instead of the city council at 6pm tomorrow:

• Watch at least 4 out of 5 council folk vote to put city manager Gregory Rose in charge of the few tenements that have yet to collapse after being under the loving care of the Nor'Town Housing Authority.
• Hear councilmember Shari Buck wax rhetorical as she reminds us yet again that she was the only one of the mayoral candidates on city council who was not on the Housing Authority board.
• See if Stephanie Smith, William Robinson, or the Mayor can restrain themselves from tossing their 20 pound ring binders towards Buck as an homage to Muntazer al-Zaidi.
• Oh, yeh. They're changing the rules for payday loans, pawnshops, and other Nor'Townie shark biz. The city is eliminating the lottery system it used to use to award permits to such companies.

And you lawyer-lobbyists and potential gubernatorial campaign contributers will no doubt want to rush out and give the Nor'Town chamber $35.00 for the privilege to eat rubber chicken and snore through the mayor's last state of the city speech. Tho, I think there's a misspelling on the invite. Shouldn't that be BSOTD09?

The meeting of the the North Las Vegas Alliance of Concerned Folk is at the Aliante Library at 6pm, Weds. Dec. 17. City council is over at the city council chambers, same bat time, different bat channel.

Sorry for the conflict in scheduling for our residents who would like to have attended both meetings. This was the only evening available to our Alliance to meet this month. But the weather being what it is (cold and snowy) we'll have hot chocolate and cookies for anyone willing to venture out:) Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa to everyone and your families,
