Say, this guy's not one of those "firefighters for Buck" we heard so much about in the last election, is he?
Well, I suppose you can't blame a guy for trying to get some job security in these tough times. Setting fire to cars is one way to keep those firefighters for Buck employed.
A judge is looking at a video of some Nor'Town cops--since fired--allegedly bringing some of that Cheney-justice to some bad boys. (AP) What with those guys, the (alleged) pyro, and the ex-peace officer (allegedly) showing the family jewels to traffic violators, and other questionable activities, the new Mayor's got some work to do keeping promises about making public safety a number one priority. Or is she too closely tied to that old boy network to promote any serious changes that would rid us of some of these bad apples?

Undaunted, the city's commitment to to the 19th century doctrine of manifest destiny is undiminished:
Errr, say what? How is it that a city manager thinks that being a fastest growing city is an unmitigated good? Hasn't the recent housing bust proven that basing a city economy on a crazy boom and bust cycle is the nadir of community planning? Does he really want to live in a city where developers and newspaper magnates are full of promises during the boom times--until they go bust and run away in the bad?
