Disclaimer: I do not officially support any candidate in the North
Las Vegas City Council primary race. However, I do support political
activism in our "apathetic" city. So, I will post information about
campaigns and campaign activities which show up in my mailbox. If you
want to send me info, send it here. If you don't send anything, then don't be upset when info about the other candidates shows up instead.
EVENT: A Grassroots Level Call To Action Rally with Jo Cato
DATE: Saturday, March 31st, 2007
PLACE: Eldorado Park (Tropical Parkway & Camino Eldorado)
RALLY TIME: 10 A.M - NOON
This Call to Action grassroots gathering is in connection with Jo Cato’s bid for your City Council Ward 4 Representative.
“Over the past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of meeting several of you, my neighbors, in between travels by foot on my door-to-door walks to your homes. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to introduce myself, meet with you, and let you know of my sincere desire to serve as your City Council Representative.” If you believe as I do, that it is time for change, that it is time to get things done, and it is time that our representatives are answerable to the people, then I ask for your support. We are in need of volunteers for a “Get Out The Vote Power Walk” on Saturday, March 31st. This is the first step toward securing change for the next four years in our community, the community of North Las Vegas.
Progressive politics will not happen in this city without your active involvement and without a central organizing vehicle beginning with this grassroots event. Although this will be a fun family event, it is a very important and serious part of our efforts to succeed. The plan is for teams to walk in shifts lasting two-three hours. Volunteers from other Wards are invited and encouraged to join in and support our efforts. Refreshments will be served.
“I am counting on you, my supporters, whether you are Democratic or Republican to tell your families, friends, and neighbors - it's time to make a change and we are the people who will accomplish that goal. Together we will continue to build a city that will become the crown jewel for our country…a city that works for all people”.
