North of the North
Despite rumors to the contrary, there are Democrats in the rurals, and they saw the POTUS trip to Elko for what it really was:
Elko County Democratic Party Chairwoman Dorothy North said it was telling that Bush was making his second trip to Nevada in a month to campaign for Dean Heller, the GOP nominee running against Democrat Jill Derby in the state's 2nd Congressional District.
The sprawling district, which covers all of Nevada and a sliver of Clark County near Las Vegas, is a Republican stronghold where no Democrat has held the seat since it was created after the 1980 census.
"Bush is worried about this seat and should be," North said Thursday.
"He's looking for a new set of rubber stamp congressmen since so many of them have been taken out by bribes and lies," she said. AP.
May Heller, Ensign, Porter and the Gibster suffer the same fate as did Herbert Hoover after the last trip to Elko by a sitting president. Hoover lost to Roosevelt the next day. Oooo. Check out the open letter from the Elko Dems on the Bush visit! Elko dems rock, and I apologize about my earlier derogatory remarks about Elkoans Elkonians. 50 states and 17 Counties.

Thanks for the apology and the compliments!!!
