Boy, Can Gibbons Pick 'Em or What?

Las Vegas TeeVee channel 8 got it into its head to wonder if Gibbons' appointment to head the Pharmacy Board wasn't just too much a bit like putting the wolf in charge of the hen house.

Gibbons' pick for the board, Mary Lau, has spent most of her last 20 years lobbying for "major retailers and pharmacy chains" in Nevada. She's currently prez of the Retail Association of Nevada.

The most interesting question is, will she actually be able to hear any of the business before the board, given she has to recuse herself from nearly every item due to a conflict of interest?

And don't miss the lie about her consulting with the Attorney General's office about her ability to serve:

A representative from the attorney general's office tells the I-Team it did not advise Mary Lau. But shortly thereafter, the attorney for the Pharmacy Board did.

Now if the TeeVee news decides to go after all of Gibbers' awful appointments, they'll be busy for a good couple of months.

Yes, Lau is the resident agent and managing member for Silver State Strategies (the LLC that gives money to Chuck Muth's Citizen Outreach, who in turn spends the same or nearly the same amount of money with a CA political campaign advertising firm with a republican bent-so is the SSS an unreported PAC?!). She is also secretary and RA for employer background information firm (the one that lost a thumb drive with 1,900 applicants for jobs with Nevada public safety bureau?), Employer Lynx.

Lau was Secretary for "Nevadans against Question 6" (raising miniiimum wage);

Oh, this one is gooood!, Mary Lau is secretary/treasurer for West Shield Ltd, (revoked by Secretary of State, Feb 1, 2008), a charity (yes, West Shield Ltd is on IRS Charity page), a group whose web site writes, "West Shield, Inc. shall provide religious and educational programs to recover and promote ancient elements of Native American and Chinese theology, philosophy, martial and healing arts that have been passed over in favor of Christian and social non-indigenous stands".

Now that I think about the Mary Lau and Senator Amodei business relation in Silver State Strategies, LLC, I question if his letter to the LCB, amodeiletter directing the Legislative Council Bureaus's Legal Division to produce all legislative presentations by Pharmacy Board attorney, Mr. Ling, before Senator Amodei's Judiciary Committees in 2003 and 2005, is not indeed an attempt to intimidate a witness, suppress his obligation to discharge the duties of his office, and/or headhunting in and of itself? Is this a lawful request and/or inteference given Senator Amodie's business relationship with Lau, the "public member" to the Board appointed by the GOvernor? I wonder if Senator Amodei has clean hands in this instance?! Will the AG act to investiagte this issue (she should)? Will the MSM, aside from Ralston (kudos to Mr. Ralston on this expose'!), ask the Governor and the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Amodei, the tough questions that ought to be asked? Is he attempting to stifle and " deprive the public of a public official’s honest services. ..." i.e. Attorney Ling?! Will Mary Lau be guilty of the same?!

Too, did Senator Amodei and Mary Lau, via Silver State Strategies LLC, unlawfully and willfully expend money to support or oppose a candidate or public issue before the voters in 2006 and pass money through conservative Chuck Muth's Citizen Outreach PAC in support or opposition to a candidate or or measure on a ballot in 2006 without registering with the Nevada Secretary of State's office as required by NRS in order to avoid lawful requirements and thus hide their economic interest in support or opposition of an issue in front of the voters on a ballot?! If it is true that Senator Amodei did this, on three seperate occassions, and was found guilty of same, he could be removed from office under the Nevada Three-Strike Rule that came into effect after the Kathy Augustine debacle!

Gee, in 2004 did Mary Lau's West Shield Ltd use their tax exempt status to write off a performance of the North American Spirit Dance outside Pau, FRANCE to the tune of $25,000???? I don't know, but Mary Lau signed the IRS form 990, ask her! BTW, who 'contributed' the funds to Lau's charity? Wouldn't it be nice to have your own charity to write off one's world travel? Not saying, just asking.
