Anybody Seen Rick Eaton?
Occasionally the mongering part of me takes hold and compels me to, well, monger. Today is such a day.
The following comes from a source who wishes to remain anonymous, and I have it only from the one source, so keep that in mind. I'll leave it to real journalists to verify the story.
According to my source, Rick Eaton, the head of what passes for the Nevada Department of Homeland Security, left his office Thursday at the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) and took his Homeland Security staff and the Carson "Fusion Center" with him.
Apparently, my source says, you can't do that. You can't just move a state office without contacting the dread Interim Finance Committee of the Legislature because you need to make sure your leases and contracts meet Nevada State guidelines.
Also, you'd think there should be a contact number or something so folks could call up the head of the Nevada DHS. You know, in case the terrorists attack the Venetian and take Adelson hostage or something and undermine the governor's campaign financing for 2010.
So, anybody out there know where Mr. Eaton is? My source suspects he moved the fusion center into the mansion.
You know, into that empty bedroom that just opened up after the first co-conspirator moved out.
And is there a website that is uglier or more useless than Nevada's Department of Homeland Security's?

Mr. Eaton is supposed to appear before the Interim Finance Committee tomorrow. Click on the agenda link to information presentations and you will see him there.
There's lots of expenditures being requested by the Gube for the Fusion Center.

Maybe then we will know why Eaton left and where did he go?
