More Trouble in Taxland
So, you'd think the Gube who is embroiled in a scuffle over getting a tax break after sending in his pet Tax Commissioner to strong arm the local assessor would stay the Hell away from the state Department of Taxation for a while.
Well, that'll teach you to think. Gibbons appointed the fellow in charge of compliance over at the DoT to take a cozy spot as the Gube's public defender today. (Gube) It's all nicely summed up over at NewsCarsonCity.com. This guy, Chris Neilsen, who used to work over in the compliance division at the Department of Taxin', will now serve as Gibbons' General Counsel.
Well, at least that one's member of the Gube's staff, along with Kickheifer, 'course, who'll earn his pay. Keeping the Gube out of jail will be a full time job.
Just be real careful of what kind of advice you hand him, Chris. Don't wanna see you indicted with the rest of the staff.
So, now, will Chris be the guy who argues the Gube's case in front of the Ethic's Commission? How does that go? I mean, does he argue that it's okay NOT to comply with the tax laws?
