The Gube sent out a late afternoon, rather pathetic defense of his illegal appointment/non-appointment of a Tourism Czar. Sebelius has the details.
Looks like he figured he could get in a few kicks at the battered Lt. Gube Krolicki, too. Hey, it's always more fun to kick your own when they're down.
So much for party loyalty.
Frankly, the tirade brings to mind a picture of the Gube, slumped over his computer, empty wine bottles littering his desk, typing up the notice in a flood of self-pity, as he gazes into the black abyss of the last two years, or maybe less, of his pointless political career. Or something like that.
Doesn't the Gube have a bunch of state workers surrounding him to filter out some of this stuff?

OK, I need some help. I am digging through Gibbons' campaign contributions from his guber run looking for Mark Lipparelli/Bally's and the Montero guy. Thinking we have a "pay to play" governor?

then go to page 7 and see that MENDY ELLIOT gave Gibbons a $1,000. donation on January 24, 2006 and this was not her first donation. After he took office at midnight on December 31, 2006 and she was appointed by him on January 4, 2007 to be the Director of Business & Industry where she and her minions essentially looked the other way while lenders in this state continued to hand out "liar loans" to homebuyers/owners.

and on a following page, Shuffle Master, one of Lipperelli's other employers gave $25000.

Love what you're doing...with Lau, the $ donated was just days before her appointment (in her case to be the "public member" of pharma board), I look forward to reviewing Gibbons c/e reports (including LDF), due mid January 2009 and will keep an eye out for Montero.
I found you can do a "google" search for c/e reports by candidate name and if you're lucky you can open as an 'html' and search for contributors via conventional 'ctl f' box.
